Pediatric Speech-Language Therapy

My name is Katie Rose, and it would be my pleasure to work with your child as his or her Speech-Language Pathologist. I have enjoyed 15 years of providing bilingual (English-Spanish) speech-language therapy to  children in schools, clinics, and homes. These children have had a variety of communication challenges in the areas of articulation, language, fluency (stuttering), voice, and social language skills.

During my speech-language therapy sessions, I incorporate multi-sensory and movement based activities to target children’s goals. This includes talking about feelings, singing songs, reading books, educational games, word practice drills, arts and crafts, and more! Sessions can be provided in English, or in a combination of Spanish and English, depending on the child's cultural-linguistic needs.

Feel free to take a look at the service descriptions below. If you find something that might be the right fit for your child, please fill out the contact form at the bottom of the page to set up a free consultation.

Sincerely,

Katie Rose MA, CCC-SLP

Articulation Therapy

Articulation therapy is a highly effective approach that helps children learn to say sounds more clearly, making their speech easier to understand. Therapists use fun, engaging activities to teach your child how to move their lips, tongue, and jaw the right way for each sound. With regular sessions and simple, playful practice at home, most children make great progress. Parents often find that incorporating these quick exercises into daily routines—like during car rides or bath time—can be both easy and rewarding. With consistent support from therapy and home practice, many children show noticeable improvement, helping them feel more confident and understood when they speak.

Language Therapy-English

Language therapy is a powerful and supportive way to help children build their understanding of language (receptive skills) and their ability to express themselves (expressive skills). Therapists use fun, interactive games, books, and everyday routines to teach new words, concepts, and sentence structures in a way that feels natural and enjoyable for your child. Simple activities at home—like talking about what you see on a walk or reading together—can make a big difference and fit easily into your daily life. With regular sessions and consistent support at home, many children grow into confident, capable communicators. Language therapy gives children the tools they need to share their thoughts, connect with others, and thrive socially and academically.

Social Skills Therapy

Language-based social skills therapy helps children learn how to connect and communicate with others in meaningful ways. Through fun games, role-playing, and guided conversations, therapists teach important language functions like asking questions, making requests, giving opinions, and saying “no” respectfully. Children also learn to pick up on non-verbal cues like facial expressions, tone of voice, gestures, and personal space—key skills for building friendships and feeling confident in social situations. These strategies are easy to practice at home during everyday moments, like mealtime or playtime. With regular therapy and simple support from parents, children often show exciting growth in their ability to express themselves and connect with others. Social skills therapy empowers kids to be more confident, independent communicators—at home, in school, and beyond.

Fluency Therapy

(Stuttering)

Fluency therapy helps children who stutter learn to speak more smoothly and with greater confidence. In a supportive and encouraging environment, therapists use fun and age-appropriate activities to teach strategies that make talking easier and more relaxed. Therapy also includes gentle counseling to help children understand their feelings about stuttering, build resilience, and learn how to speak up for themselves in everyday situations. Parents are given simple, stress-free ways to support fluency at home, like practicing slow, calm conversations during meals or bedtime routines. With consistent therapy and home support, many children make great progress in both their speech and their confidence. Fluency therapy empowers kids to express themselves freely and comfortably, helping them become strong, self-assured communicators.
